"After four years of private classes with Blanca I can say that she is an excellent Spanish teacher. She has professional materials to work with, texts, videos, obviously knows her Spanish grammar well, is friendly, and best of all she is very patient with her students. She learned English as an adult so she has a good appreciation of the adult language learning process. Several years of experience teaching in the classroom at the university/college level coupled with private sessions whether in person or via Skype has made her a versatile teacher. My goal in learning Spanish was to develop an ability to communicate with hotel staff and locals while on vacation in Central America. Blanca and I had practice conversations about restaurant menus, bad food and service, and checking into hotels that were fun and helped me to improve the confidence that I needed to initiate as well as respond to Spanish conversations. If your only experience with Spanish is hearing the Mexican or Cuban style of speaking, you will enjoy her European Spanish accent and welcome the exposure to another way to pronounce Spanish. A bonus to this experience was learning many things about Spain and the customs of its people, especially the holiday traditions."

We had the good fortune of having a friend of our recommend Alive Spanish for lessons . Blanca turned out to be an excellent instructor for all the right reasons. She worked hard to find out just what our needs would be for our planned trip to Peru and then developed lesson plans that were just right. We are total non-Spanish speakers....absolute beginners. Blanca worked with us right from the beginning, using face-to-face scheduled meetings via Skype that turned out to be effective and highly enjoyable. We found Blanca to be energetic and engaging, always looking to get the best results from our time spent together. She was also flexible with the time of the lessons.
